It’s not uncommon for ophthalmic administrators and physicians to assume all clinical staff are performing skills consistently and that the documented results are accurate. Training Manual

The Eyetechs Technician Training Manual is to be used as a guide for training people to be ophthalmic technicians who have little or no experience in providing assistance in the clinic. The framework is structured around the conventional 12-week orientation period in a general practice. Because every practice is different, you may find that the timelines will vary for your office.

This manual is based on the premise that the employee must invest in his or her career just as the employer is investing in it. Included in this manual are associated readings from either of the COA home study books, quizzes and step-by-step directions for many of the skills that techs perform. There is also a skills tracking table to monitor their progress.
